Please don't call me "fixed". I hate that. I was never broken, and therefore I do not need, nor have I ever needed, to be "fixed".
Likewise, if you are a rescue person trying to find a home for a nice guy like me, just remember that dog is not broken either, and therefore cannot possibly be "fixed". We get spayed, we get neutered. If we break a leg, well yes, then we get fixed, but only then.
Just saying.

Mom keeps saying she wants to fix me...I thought she meant punish me........lol... thanks for clearing that up for me. Now I know the Vet trip will not be fun. =)
HA! I have this conversation every so often... someone asks why Teddy isn't "fixed" - being a male Great Dane it's pretty obvious he still has the equipment God gave him. My response is "He's not broken!" It's OK though - usually there follows a constructive conversation about responsible dog ownership. Which, if it doesn't include surgical sterilization, DOES always include good management to prevent accidental doggie pregnancies.
You have made a very good point. Both of my brothers have been neutered and I am spayed. Though my brother Dawson could use some fixing in the space between his ears.
Nicely put.
I wanted to pop by and thank you for coming by my blog in March! I hope to hear from you again in April.
